Thursday Night Football: Michael Vick Vs. Matt Schaub, Former Falcons QBs

Content with starting QB Michael Vick, the Atlanta Falcons traded backup QB Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans in March 2007 for a pair of second-round picks. About one month later, the investigation into Vick's dogfighting operation began. Whoops!

If the Falcons had waited just a few more weeks to send Schaub to Houston, he'd probably still be Atlanta's quarterback, and the team would've have fallen quite so far in 2007. Matt Ryan might be a member of the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, or Baltimore Ravens, who were thinking about trading up to grab him anyway. With stable quarterback play, Bobby Petrino might even have stuck around past the week two kickoff.

Tonight's Thursday Night Football matchup will be the first time Vick has faced his former backup. Two of the league's best quarterbacks, they join Brett Favre and Ryan in being current NFL starters drafted by Atlanta.
