Roddy White Apologizes For New Orleans Tweet

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White has apologized for a certain tweet about the city of New Orleans he send out during his Wednesday trash-talking spree. Yesterday White tweeted: “The grace of god gave them tht championship so tht city wouldn fall apart now and now they think they hot shit,” which some New Orleans Saints fans took as a Katrina reference, rather than a reference to the storybook season itself.

White’s apology, as delivered to the AJ-C’s D. Orlando Ledbetter:

I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to offend anybody about that stuff, especially the city of New Orleans. Some people just take things out of context. I just felt like that’s not what I was aiming for, to say anything about the city. They are the defending world champs.

White also said he doesn’t expect to be punished by the team, nor does he expect his remarks to provoke the Saints to hit him any harder than they were already going to.
