The Atlanta Falcons became the first team this season to win 10 games with their 28-24 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5). The Falcons have also won six straight games, their longest winning streak since 1998 when they advanced to the Super Bowl against the Denver Broncos.
This game was a huge test for the Falcons. They were facing a division opponent on the road and they turned the ball over twice. They found themselves down by 10 points in the fourth quarter and allowed over 100 yards rushing by LeGarrette Blount. All that adversity and the Falcons still found a way to win.
Matt Ryan connected with Michael Jenkins on what turned out to be the game-winner. The Falcons defense closed out the Buccaneers last gasp effort with a Brent Grimes interception.
The Falcons next four games are the Carolina Panthers twice, the Seattle Seahawks and the New Orleans Saints. It’s becoming very clear the game with the Saints on Monday Night Football will be the game that decides this division.
