In the final game of the John Fox-coached Carolina Panthers season, they will be without their best receiver in Steve Smith. Smith has been declared inactive and will not be available against the Atlanta Falcons. Jay Adams of the official site had the scoop:
JUST IN: Steve Smith is inactive for the Panthers. So is Chris Gamble and Ed Johnson #atlcar10
Smith played nine of his 10 seasons under Fox and put up 610 catches for 8,730 yards and 52 touchdowns in that span. Together they made the playoff three times and appeared in the Super Bowl after the 2003 season.
The Falcons are completely healthy with the only inactives being the usual suspects on gameday.
Falcons Inactives: D. Franks, R. Bush, S. Adkins, G. Reynolds, M. Johnson, L. Sidbury, T. Lewis, J. Wilson (3rd QB) #atlcar10
