2011 NFL Playoff Schedule To Be Announced Soon After Rams-Seahawks

Update: The 2011 NFL playoff schedule has been released.

The NFL playoff picture is clear except for the NFC’s No. 4 and No. 6 seeds and the AFC’s No. 3 and No. 4. But for those wondering where and on which channels their teams will play, the NFL is expected to announce its playoff schedule tonight after the St. Louis Rams-Seattle Seahawks game.

Last year the league announced its first-round schedule late Sunday night — it’ll probably be even later this time around, with the NFC West title game likely continuing until well after 11. The league could even wait until Monday morning. Playoff schedules were announced on Monday in 2008.

One NFC game and one AFC game will be played on Saturday, Jan. 8, with the same allotment on Sunday, Jan. 9. In recent years the Saturday games have been played in the late afternoon and evening, while the Sunday games have been near regular Sunday time slots.
