We are one half of championship football away from knowing who the NFC representative in Super Bowl XLV will be. Spoiler alert: it’s looking like the Green Bay Packers. The Packers lead the Chicago Bears 14-0 after an impressive first half and are 30 minutes away from returning to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1997.
The Packers have rolled up 252 yards in the first half including 104 on the ground. Each team has one turnover apiece.
The Bears overcame two 11-point deficits this season so there’s hope for a comeback though this offense is not designed to play from behind and they’ve shown nothing in the first half that would make a win seem probable. Making the task much more difficult is the fact that the Packers have won 14 consecutive games – dating back to 2006 – when leading by 14 or more at halftime.
