Chris Ivory Injury: Saints RB On Injured Reserve Before Playoff Game Vs. Seattle Seahawks

The New Orleans Saints running game hasn’t been a major strength this year, with the team ranking No. 28 in yards per game and No. 19 in yards per attempt. Now that top RB Chris Ivory is being placed on injured reserve due to a left foot injury, the Saints running game might be almost as useless as the Seattle Seahawks’. Not that they’ll need to run to beat Seattle.

Ivory led the team with 716 yards rushing and five touchdowns. He played in 12 games, the most of any Saints back.

Their other feature-worthy back, Pierre Thomas, missed week 17 with an ankle injury. His status is still up in the air. The team has signed DeShawn Wynn to complement its current assortment of Julius Jones and Reggie Bush, who’ve combined for 343 rushing yards this year.

How long can a football game last, if neither team bothers to run the ball?
