The Philadelphia Eagles refuse to go away in their Wild Card game against the Green Bay Packers. Despite two missed field goals and a defense that has been dominated much of the evening, the Eagles are within five points of the Packers, 21-16. Michael Vick’s one-yard quarterback sneak on fourth-and-1 brought the Eagles to within five but the two-point conversion attempt was ruled incomplete when Brent Celek, who made the catch cleanly, was determined to have stepped out of bounds in the back of the end zone. The subsequent two-point attempt from the seven-yard line was incomplete.
The Eagles chose to kick the ball deep and the Packers are now in a position to run out the clock. Obviously, any situation that involves Vick and the Eagles offense back on the field could have disastrous results but if the Packers can play keep away, they’ll be headed to Atlanta to play the Falcons.
