The Falcons would like nothing less than to hear more about the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers, but Aaron Rodgers and company stood at 3-3 after six games in 2010. However, if the 2011 Falcons and their half-baked offense fall to 2-4 with a loss to young Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers, it's near impossible to think Atlanta could scrap back and make a Wildcard berth, let alone be representing the NFC in Indianapolis next February.
Atlanta will be without rookie wide receiver Julio Jones and need to rely on Michael Turner and Jason Snelling to pound the ball against Carolina's weak rushing defense. Newton has looked brilliant at times, but the Panthers are 1-4 because of mental gaffes and rookie tendencies (last week it was rookie head coach Ron Rivera's timeout confusion, not Newton, that cost Carolina an upset of New Orleans).
