NFL Scores, NFC South Standings: New Orleans Loss Pulls Atlanta Within A Game Of Division Lead

The New Orleans Saints upset loss to the St Louis Rams in Week 8 brings their division lead over Tampa Bay and Atlanta to just one game.

St Louis Rams 31 vs. New Orleans Saints 21: Stephen Jackson had a big game running for over 250 yards and two touchdowns as the St. Louis Rams captured their first win of the season upsetting the Saints. The loss drops the Saints to 5-3 and just one game ahead of both Tampa Bay and Atlanta for the division lead.

Minnesota Vikings 24 vs. Carolina Panthers 21: Cam Newton continued his stellar rookie season throwing for 290 yards and three touchdowns but Olindo Mare missed a game tying 31 yard field goal with just 26 seconds remaining as the Carolina Panthers fall to 2-6 on the season.

Atlanta and Tampa Bay were both on bye weeks in Week 8. The Falcons will hit the road in Week 9 as they travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts. The Buccaneers travel to New Orleans for a big NFC South divisional match up against the Saints.
