The Week 5 NFL Power Rankings from SB Nation are out, and they penalize the Atlanta Falcons despite their rare road win in Seattle. The Falcons slide two spots from No. 16 to No. 18 after a 30-28 victory over the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field, and were passed by both the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears.
Joel Thorman isn't impressed by the Falcons so far. He wonders: "Is Atlanta part of the 50 percent turnover rate we see from playoff teams year to year?" If Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Roddy White, and Julio Jones can't keep scoring tons of points, the Falcons might be in that turnover: Atlanta's defense has conceded 105 points in four games.
And it gets no easier for the Falcons' defense. On Sunday, Super Bowl champion Green Bay rolls into Atlanta for a rematch of the NFC Divisional Round playoff game the Packers won 48-21 last year — and these Packers, averaging 37 points per game, might be better on offense than 2010's version.
