Matt Schaub Injury Could Last Until Falcons Vs. Texans

Former Falcons QB Matt Schaub is one of the best passers in the NFL, but he's about to miss some time. The Texans just announced he'll miss "several" weeks due to injury. And not only is he a former Falcon, his team is also a future Falcons opponent.

The Falcons travel to Houston in three weeks. Schaub pilots the AFC's No. 1-seeded team and the NFL's third-highest scoring offense despite missing Andre Johnson for much of the year. He ranks 10th in passing yardage (2,479) and sixth in passer rating (96.8).

If he can't go, he'll be replaced by Matt Leinart, a career 70.8-rated hurler who's yet to throw an attempt as a Texan and hasn't thrown a touchdown since 2008. You'd never root for an injury to linger on, especially for a former Bird. This one could have quite an impact on Atlanta's season, though, and is worth monitoring.
