After missing two weeks with a hamstring injury and having an additional bye week to recuperate, Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones will play this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, according to a report from ESPN's John Clayton:
ClaytonESPN John ClaytonPlayers good to go: Julio Jones, Justin Tuck, L. Blount, Hines Ward, Wes Welker. They will also play.
Playing against an Indianapolis Colts defense that gave up 62 points to New Orleans two weeks ago, Jones will have a great opportunity to score his first career NFL touchdown.
Falcons head coach Mike Smith even mentioned that Jones' absence might end up being a net positive for the rookie from Alabama, as it gave him a time to decompress mentally and watch an NFL game from an outsider's perspective.
Atlanta, after giving up a bounty of draft picks to acquire Jones in a draft-day trade, threw him directly into the mix after the lockout ended. Unlike a typical rookie, he never had the chance to get familiar with the nuances of the NFL game in off-season mini-camps because of the lockout.
