The Atlanta Falcons are gearing up for their Week 16 game against the New Orleans Saints and the hopes of securing a playoff berth with a win over their division rivals.
As weekday practices kick off, the Falcons have received what is potentially very good news. According to Knox Bardeen of CBS Sports, Atlanta DB Brent Grimes has been cleared to practice.
Grimes has missed the last four Falcons games after undergoing minor knee surgery on December 1. Grimes had been playing with a sore knee since Atlanta's win over the Detroit Lions on October 23, but had to leave the November 27 game against the Minnesota Vikings in the first quarter.
The return of Grimes to action would be huge for the game against the Saints, as his presence on the secondary would provide a definite edge to containing the potent Drew Brees passing game.
