Falcons, Bears To Open 2011 Schedules In Chicago, According To Report

Plenty of 2011 NFL schedule nuggets are starting to leak (leaky nuggets!) all over the place — including the Packers and Saints playing the season opener, the Eagles possibly playing the Bills in Toronto, and all sorts of Giants and Jets reports — but here’s one on your Atlanta Falcons. ESPN Chicago’s Carmen DeFalco reports the Birds will play the Chicago Bears in week one.

Just a report, of course, but the Bears are indeed on the slate of road teams Atlanta will play this year. And they were both 2010 playoff teams, so that would be a reasonably high-profile opener.

The Falcons fan’s primary scheduling concern: weather. Getting a cold weather game out of the way in early Sept. sounds pretty perfect to me, especially since that would leave Seattle as possibly the only other cold game the Falcons play all year.
