NFL Draft Second Day Gives Atlanta Falcons One Chance To Meet A Major Need

The Atlanta Falcons entered the 2011 NFL Draft with a manageable set of needs: a playmaking wide receiver, apprentices for John Abraham and Tony Gonzalez, a versatile offensive weapon, offensive line depth and maybe some secondary help. Put a giant check mark next to that first item, as the team sent five draft picks to Cleveland for Julio Jones, but as for the others ... well, the team sent five draft picks to Cleveland.

Without a second round pick in his kit, Thomas Dimitroff is going to have to hope whoever he's eying slips all the way to pick No. 91, as that's Atlanta's only pick until the fifth round on Saturday afternoon.

Finding a promising pass rusher is going to be a longshot at that point, though there are plenty of value tight ends and small running backs likely to be available.

The second round of the 2011 NFL Draft starts at 6 p.m. (ET) on Friday, April 29, and SB Nation has everything you need to keep up with it: news, rumors, player profiles, scouting reports, the full NFL draft schedule, NFL mock drafts, draft projections and more.
