Gus Johnson, the world's finest sports TV commentator, has been reportedly set to take his hollerin' from CBS to FOX for next year's football season, and it looks like the move is actually happening. While this means college basketball sucks now, the good news for Atlanta is Gus will now call more than one or so Atlanta Falcons games per season.
Since the network will still insist on using Joe Buck and Troy Aikman as its No. 1 announce team, that pair will of course handle whichever sub-.500 NFC East battle earns national game-of-the-week status, freeing up Gus Johnson to call every single Falcons game all year long! Right?
Also relevant to Southeastern interests: Johnson's becoming the marquee Pac-12 announcer makes the left coast conference's media coup even more impressive. The prospects of Gus calling a Battle for the Golden Boot are gone, and the announcer's talent for courting drama means every somesuch Oregon State-Colorado game is going to need to be picture-in-picture backup at least, a prospect no SEC fan is comfortable with.
