New Jersey Numbers For Julio Jones, 2011 Falcons Draft Class

Julio Jones had to come up with a new jersey number upon being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, as his Alabama Crimson Tide No. 8 wouldn't work in the super-fun NFL, which only lets WRs use teens and eighties. He settled on No. 11, announcing his choice in a tweet over the weekend.

Other jersey numbers for the rest of the 2011 draft class, as revealed by the team: Akeem Dent, No. 43; Jacquizz Rodgers, No. 22; Matt Bosher, No. 5; Andrew Jackson, No. 69; and Cliff Matthews, No. 93. Matthews had to give up his No. 83, which is worn in Atlanta by Harry Douglas. Dent's choice of No. 43 is interesting, as his old No. 51 isn't being used by anybody on the current roster.

Jacquizz Rodgers switches from No. 1 to No. 22 and Matt Bosher from No. 25 to No. 5, both due to positional requirements. Jackson is the only new Falcon to keep his college jersey number.
