The complete list of picks from the Monday night UFL Draft features a few names that also appeared on the unofficial list of NFL undrafted free agents, most notably Boston College Eagles LB Mark Herzlich and Kentucky Wildcats RB Derrick Locke. While those players are more likely to try and make their way into a NFL training camp, they now have a fallback plan, at least.
Georgia Southern Eagles RB Adrian Peterson was also selected, as were a handful of players from SEC schools -- including Mississippi Rebels QB Jeremiah Masoli. The ACC put picks in six rounds. I think Virginia Cavaliers OLB Clint Ingram might be the most prominent. Up for VERY VIGOROUS DEBATE.
And just for funsies, here's the list of picks made by former Atlanta Falcons coach Jerry Glanville (yes, that Cecil Newton is Cam's brother):
1. Hartford Colonials - Jerrod Johnson | QB | Texas A&M
6. Hartford Colonials - Kurt Quarterman | G | Louisville
11. Hartford Colonials - Cecil Newton Jr. | C | Tennessee State
16. Hartford Colonials - Ricky Henry | G | Nebraska
22. Hartford Colonials - Phillip Tanner | RB | Middle Tennessee State
27. Hartford Colonials - Ervin Baldwin | DE | Michigan State
32. Hartford Colonials - Greg Smith | TE | Texas
37. Hartford Colonials - Colby Whitlock | DT | Texas Tech
42. Hartford Colonials - Jonathan Lewis | DT | Virginia Tech
47. Hartford Colonials - Keith Grennan | DE | Eastern Washington
