Falcons cornerback Chris Owens, who was accused of tearing up ex-girlfriend Latia Terry's apartment along with several personal items, had his case dismissed by Terry in a family violence hearing Wednesday morning. Regarding the case's dismissal, Owens' attorney Randall Kessler had this to say:
He is pleased that she decided to dismiss the case. He looks forward to working with her to raise their son together.
On June 12, Owens was alleged to have destroyed several of Terry's possessions by dousing them in bleach. As part of the dismissal, Owens and Terry are to begin working out parental rights over their nine month-old son.
The case dismissal is sure to be a relief for the Falcons, who lack any sort of depth at the cornerback position outside of starters Dunta Robinson and Brent Grimes. Pending any free agency acquisitions, Owens should still be in line to begin the 2011 season as the team's primary nickelback.
