If you don't watch ESPN or listen to national sports talk radio all day, Brett Favre's eternal twin addictions to football and attention really aren't annoying at all. What else are we going to talk about on July 24?
There's a rumor that the Philadelphia Eagles are interested in bringing back the Funslinger to back up Michael Vick, which kind of sounds fine to me, since a Philly QB controversy would suit the Atlanta Falcons just fine, even though Shutdown Corner admits Philadelphia would actually be a good spot for Favre.
Not that putting the NFL's two most controversial players in the same depth chart column would introduce any such issues in Philly, of course. Could it be that the Falcons drafted both Favre and Vick just to send them on a collision course decades in waiting? Everything is finally coming together.
For his part, Vick tweeted that he "would be honored to have Brett Farve as a backup" and that it "will be amazing Learning how to toy with defenses the way he did his whole career." He quickly deleted that tweet.
