As of Friday morning, the Atlanta Falcons are involved in only three rumors. One is a free agency rumor, one is a trade rumor and the other is about Arthur Blank's secret identity. The free agency rumor has the Falcons tangling with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots for the services of Minnesota Vikings DE Ray Edwards.
The trade rumor is that the Falcons will trade for New York Giants DE Osi Umenyiora. Peter King really liked that one last Thursday night:

I've been watching Twitter like a teenager all week, and I've seen the Ray Edwards thing develop. The specific teams listed there keep showing up in tweets by a guy known for just straight inventing s---. However, it's been reported for months the Falcons are interested in Edwards, and with every other big-name DE off the board they probably are still trying to get a good deal.
But with that many teams bidding, I'd be surprised to see them sign him. Gotta be somebody cheap who could contribute, if not start right now.
The Osi thing was apparently started by Jason La Canfora on the NFL Network. Everybody keeps citing him as saying the Falcons were looking to deal. I didn't see him say that, and he hasn't written it anywhere that I know of. Whether he started it or not, it's totally his fault though. Think about it. Don't think about it.
