This hasn't been the most entertaining pre-NFL Draft period for the Atlanta Falcons fan. The Julio Jones trade has left the Birds with only five picks, including zero first-rounders. Since almost every mock draft focuses only on the first round, there's not much to observe other than to note which players the Falcons passed up and to see where Georgia's Cordy Glenn ends up.
Bless you, Mocking the Draft. A five-rounder!
Atlanta's picks, in order: Boise St. Broncos offensive tackle Nate Potter, Oregon Ducks tight end David Paulson, West Virginia Mountaineers defensive end Julian Miller. I'm familiar with all three of those players, and would thus be fine with a haul like this. Players taken by the Browns with Atlanta's picks: Miami Hurricanes running back Lamar Miller and Texas Longhorns linebacker Emmanuel Acho.
Add those last two players to OT Gabe Carimi, WR Greg Little and perhaps CB Rashad Carmichael or TE D.J. Williams, and there we have an idea of what the Falcons gave up for Jones.
