NFL Round Two Mock Draft: Falcons Projected To Take Georgia's Orson Charles

The Falcons - and the state of Georgia - were quiet on the first night on the NFL Draft, but Atlanta's first pick of the 2012 Draft is projected to be an all-local affair, as SB Nation's round two mock draft has the Falcons taking Georgia tight end Orson Charles:

55. Atlanta Falcons - Orson Charles, TE, Georgia

First-round pick: No pick

Behind Tony Gonzalez there is little quality at tight end for the Falcons. With most of the better interior linemen and pass rushers gone, Charles would be a good pickup.

That's certainly a pick destined to draw favor with fans in Atlanta and Athens. Charles was a reliable and effective weapon for the Bulldogs throughout his run at UGA, and the Falcons and Gonzalez are operating with the understanding that the Pro Bowl and first-ballot Hall of Famer will retire after the 2012 season.
