NFL Draft 2012: Atlanta Falcons Select Peter Konz With No. 55 Overall Pick

With the No. 55 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons have selected Peter Konz, a versatile offensive lineman prospect who can play both center and guard from the Wisconsin Badgers. Konz was expected to be taken in the mid to late first round as one of the top center prospects amidst an offensive line heavy group in this season’s draft, so his selection at the the No. 55 pick

Konz fits a big need and could start from day one at center to help shore up the Falcons offensive line that has some aging players.

Konz started 31 games during his career with the Badgers before leaving for the draft after his Junior year. The Falcon’s next pick will be the No. 84 overall selection in the third round.
