Former University of Georgia Punter Drew Butler has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent. Butler averaged 44.2 yards on 58 kicks in 2011 and has a career 45.0 yard average while at Georgia
Butler is expected to compete with Jeremy Kapinos as the two are the only punters currently on the Steelers roster.
"It just seems like a legitimate and real opportunity," Butler said. "They value special teams up there and I think it's a good way to get my foot in the door."
Butler is the second of the Bulldogs' kicking specialists to get an opportunity in the NFL after place kicker Blair Walsh was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round of the draft.
