Falcons Sign Rookie Offensive Tackle Lamar Holmes To A 4-Year Deal

The Atlanta Falcons have signed another one of their 2012 draft picks. The latest is offensive tackle Lamar Holmes who was selected in the third round with the 91st overall selection. Holmes agreed to a four-year contract, but the value of the contract was not available.

Holmes was drafted to help provide some depth at the offensive line position and particularly with short-yardage situation due to his 6-foot-6, 333 pound frame. Holmes is a confident player who thinks he can start right away:

"I do," Holmes said when asked following his selection if he could compete for a starting job with the Falcons. "I feel like I can come in there and be a contributor from Day 1, because I'm going to work and whoever is across from me, I'm going to make them work hard every day, all day."

Holmes became the fifth rookie to sign their rookie deal out of the six players that the Falcons drafted.
