Atlanta Falcons Give Former Georgia Tech WR Tyler Melton A Tryout

The Atlanta Falcons have given a local star a chance to make it on their roster, as former Georgia Tech wide receiver Tyler Melton has been given a tryout spot at the Falcons' rookie minicamp next weekend.

Melton had an underwhelming career at Georgia Tech, with a senior season stat line of 17 catches and 263 receiving yards. For his career, Melton hauled in 33 catches for 461 yards and just one touchdown. Melton's stat ledger is as much of a product of the Yellow Jacket's spread option run offense versus Melton's capabilities as a wide receiver.

Standing at 6'1" and 206 pounds and good speed, Melton has the physical tools to play wideout. The Falcons have brought in three undrafted wideouts to complete against Melton, including: Marcus Jackson of the Lamar Cardinals, Cody Pearcy from the Huntingdon Hawks (Ala.) and James Rodgers from the Oregon State Badgers.
