With the draft now in the rear-view mirror, the long road to the start of the 2012 NFL season has begun.
For the Atlanta Falcons, the first step is the team's rookie minicamp, a three-day event which begins on Friday, May 11.
Now that there is a rookie salary cap, all six of the team's draft picks will be in attendance, as there is no longer any reason for rookie's to hold out for a better contract. In addition, six players who were on the practice squad last season will be on hand as well as 34 undrafted free agents.
The vast majority will never seen an NFL snap, but there may be a future star in the mix, as undrafted players like Tony Romo, Miles Austin and Victor Cruz have emerged as Pro Bowlers over the last few years.
