2012 Atlanta Falcons OTAs: New-Look Julio Jones Poised For Huge Year

The Atlanta Falcons' coaching staff continues to rave about second-year wideout Julio Jones as the team's OTAs continue this week. Last year's top overall Draft pick also debute a new look, cutting his trademark dreadlocks to give to a cancer charity (quote courtesy of the AJC):

"There is a little less weight on the top of his head with his dreads gone, but he’s had a very good camp for us as you saw today," Falcons coach Mike Smith said. "He made some very nice catches and he’s been making those types of catches all through camp."

Meanwhile, 2012 third round pick Lamar Homes will miss the OTAs entirely, and won't be in action until July mini-camps at the earliest with a toe injury. Meanwhile, linebacker Stephen Nicholas practiced with a toe injury, and defensive lineman Cliff Matthews was out with an undisclosed injury.
