2012 NFL Supplemental Draft: Josh Gordon To Cleveland Browns In Second Round

The pick is officially in for the 2012 NFL Supplemental Draft and Josh Gordon has been taken off the board earlier than anyone could have expected, going in the second round to the Cleveland Browns. While Gordon was clearly the best prospect in the eight player pool available, it's a surprise just how high the former Baylor wide receiver was taken.

Gordon graded out as a mid-round prospect by most NFL analysts, but the Browns are keen to turn the corner with their offense this season. They drafted Brandon Weeden in the first round to be their new quarterback or at least compete with Colt McCoy as the starter, and nabbed Trent Richardson as their new workhorse running back. The team let Peyton Hillis walk, so there could be all new personnel in the backfield.

The Browns still lacked that go-to receiver and Gordon has the measureables. He's a raw project, so only time will tell. However, the Browns were willing to make the move and they now give up next year's second round choice to do so.
