Jerry Rice knows something about wide receivers. So when he says on Sportscenter that Julio Jones should have a breakout season, that should get Falcons fans excited.
"I love this kid," said Rice. "He's awesome. He's big, he's fast. ... I think he's gonna have a breakout season this coming year."
Jones had a solid rookie season out of Alabama, bringing in 54 catches for 959 yards and eight touchdowns, despite missing three games. The Falcons took a risk moving up to select Jones with the No. 6 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, but the move appears to be paying off.
With a new offensive coordinator in Atlanta, PFT believes more short routes could help Jones become a more versatile weapon.
