Atlanta Falcons' running back Michael Turner spent two hours in the Gwinnett County Jail Tuesday morning after being charged with driving under the influence and speeding. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Turner was booked just after 5 a.m. and was later released on a $2,179 bond.
Hours before his arrest, Turner helped the Falcons defeat the Denver Broncos, 27-21, at the Georgia Dome in the NFL's marquee Monday Night Football matchup. In the game he carried the ball 17 times for 42 yards and scored a touchdown.
The 30-year-old running back from Northern Illinois is in his fourth year with the Falcons. So far this season, Turner leads Atlanta in carries (28) and rushing yards (74) and his touchdown on Monday night was his first of the season. Last season, Turner was named as a starter in the Pro Bowl after finishing his 2011 campaign with 1,340 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.
