The Atlanta Falcons added a running back to their practice squad, the team announced Monday. Josh Vaughan replaces safety Mark LeGree, who was waived by the Falcons.
Vaughan, 6'0, 225 pounds, has recorded just 10 carries for 31 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown run, in his NFL career. The running back out of Richmond was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a college free agent in 2009. Vaughan was signed by the Carolina Panthers in 2010 and has seen action in 10 games over the last two seasons.
At Richmond, he played in 51 games and started in 15 starts. Vaughan finished his career tied for the school record with 34 career rushing touchdowns.
LeGree, 6'0, 211 pounds, was a fifth-round (156th overall) draft choice by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2011 NFL Draft. His brief time with the Falcons was his sixth stint with a different NFL team.
