Josh Smith, along with fellow NBA stars Andre Iguodala and Russell Westbrook, stopped by the Fox News studios to promote NBA 2K11, which comes out next week.
↵But Fox News happened. The network brought in some older English guy, whose job appeared to be whipping the players into an outrage about Obama's tax increases, trying to lead them into agreeing to favor Bush's tax plan. As if that's the most pressing issue in general American discourse right now.
↵Call me crazy, but I don't see this hilarious prank taking place if the three young millionaire guests were not African-Americans who presumably voted for Obama, if at all.
↵"Hee hee, look at the young black guys who are out of touch with how high Obama's raised their taxes and just want to talk about a video game!"
↵I have no doubts that Josh Smith is a suitably worldly dude, but to a 25-year-old ballplayer from College Park, this all had to be about the most alien thing ever. Our boy wins the day, replying, "I'ma let you decide. I play basketball."
