Sports TV Schedule 10/30: Georgia-Florida, World Series Game 3 Giants-Rangers, Wizards-Hawks, Auburn-Ole Miss, Michigan State-Iowa

Baseball

↵

World Series Game 3: San Francisco Giants at Texas Rangers, 6:57, Fox: Not many people know this, but if a World Series game doesn't start three minutes before the hour, it turns back into a pumpkin and gets carved for Halloween since nobody knows why they're still playing baseball in almost-November anyway. Jonathan Sanchez and Colby Lewis deal. Giants up 2-0.

↵

Basketball

↵

Washington Wizards at Atlanta Hawks, 7, SportSouth: John Wall! The Hawks are 2-0 and a half-game ahead of the undefeated 2-1 Miami Heat. John Wall! Al Horford and Zaza Pachulia have played very well. John Wall! But Mike Bibby and Jeff Teague will need to go hard tonight because the Wizards have rookie speed at point guard.

Football

↵

No. 22 Miami Hurricanes at Virginia Cavaliers
, noon, ESPN: SBN ATL's official rooting stance here is WOO HOOS. Anything and everything that can ever possibly happen to make the ACC as amusing as possible is the thing that we hope to see happen, and a Miami loss here would be irresistible. (NOTE: this doesn't apply when Tech is the team that stands to totally pants itself in public. For half of us, anyway.)

↵

No. 17 Oklahoma State at Kansas State
, Noon, Fox Sports South: At noon, you are nowhere near awake enough for this. Big 12 games should all begin at 7 or later. If only there were a bland, conservative matchup between two teams with fair-to-poor resumes.

↵

Clemson Tigers at Boston College Eagles
, noon, WUPA: Bingo! Clemson actually has something to play for now that Florida State has lost a conference game -- the Tigers and Noles square off in just a couple weeks with the Atlantic Division title quite possibly on the line. Which means your duty is to root for BC.

↵

Tennessee Volunteers at No. 20 South Carolina
Gamecocks, 12:21, WPCH: Bet you Oklahoma State-Kansas State finishes after this game, even with the 21-minute head start. "Marcus Lattimore's back" and "poor Tennessee" are the same statement, and both have been overheard already this morning.

↵

No. 5 Michigan State Spartans at No. 18 Iowa
Hawkeyes, 3:30, ABC: Your Cocktail Party background accompaniment, and a potential game of the day for the non-native. Not only is a trip to Iowa City Sparty's toughest test yet because we didn't know how good Wisconsin was back then and that's all that we're going by, it's also all that stands in the way of a Rose Bowl or bigger.

↵

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida
Gators, 3:30, CBS: Click here for picks, predictions, offensive and defensive previews, series history, dumb jokes, and Gator hate. Oh, and we'll be live-coverin' the game too, so come on back for stats, ranting, and recaps. GAME OF THE DAY!

↵

No. 6 Missouri Tigers at No. 14 Nebraska
Cornhuskers, 3:30, ESPN: The two most overrated non-Boises in America (yes, Oklahoma was obscenely overrated last week) square off in what's sure to be a No, actually there's nothing sure to say about a highly ranked Big 12 showdown. If you like points, watch this instead of either of the above.

↵

No. 15 Arizona Wildcats at UCLA
Bruins, 3:30, Fox Sports South: Maybe you went to one of these schools. If so, you should flip back to this game.

↵

No. 1 Auburn Tigers at Mississippi
Rebels, 6, ESPN2: Houston Nutt's reputation has preceded him way too far. Somehow his talent at jinxing top-ranked teams has itself been jinxed. Auburn wins by 30.

↵

Vanderbilt Commodores at No. 19 Arkansas
Razorbacks, Fox Sports South, 7: Ryan Mallett will be on the sidelines for the Razorbacks, ready to participate. No official word on whether Bobby Petrino will be there.

↵

No. 13 Stanford Cardinal at Washington
Huskies, 7, Versus: Yes, these are getting shorter and shorter because the end is almost near and I can taste it. Andrew Luck vs. Jake Locker! Included this one just for Todd McShay.

↵

No. 2 Oregon Ducks at No. 24 USC
Trojans, 8, ABC: Did I just mix BCS rankings and AP rankings because Kiffy's boys aren't eligible to be included in BCS rankings? There are four very potential (?) top-ten upsets on the board today. I do not think this one will occur.

↵

No. 25 Michigan Wolverines at Penn State
Nittany Lions, 8, ESPN: Hey, Denard Robinson.

↵

Colorado Buffaloes at No. 11 Oklahoma
Sooners, 9:15, ESPN2: After this game, every team in the country will have played Colorado.
