Hi, this is a very, very rare bit of non-sports stuff. Ignore it if it doesn't concern you, and instead go read our Braves-Giants NLDS pregame coverage, 29 stat tidbits from the first quarter of the Falcons season, or our Georgia-Tennessee previews.
↵We have great writers covering almost all of our teams, but the Hawks and Tech football* have been more of a patchwork kind of deal so far. Several of us write about these teams, and we break away when we can from other duties to cover news and games, but it's still selling these audiences short.
↵We need someone (or a pair of people) for each team that can commit to doing at least 10-15 mostly short-ish posts per week. This would primarily be posting and reacting to news as it happens (not 'round-the-clock coverage, but we prefer to get to things as soon as we can) -- and if nothing's happening, writing to keep people coming to our site.
↵You (or someone you kindly pass this along to) will get to write alongside established and respected local bloggers, cover your team like a boss, be a part of one of the world's ten biggest and fastest-growing blog networks, and have your work read by a lot of people on a rapidly growing site (over 38,000 pageviews for SB Nation Atlanta in the past five days, our best run yet).
↵If you (or someone you know) are a fan of one of these teams, an active consumer of team news from various sources, and a good writer capable of posting pretty much every day even if there's no huge breaking news, please email me: atlanta@sbnation.com. I'd like to see some stuff you've written recently. Even if it's from Bleacher Report.
↵I may be able to offer a very little bit of compensation, if it's clear you're a productive and capable writer.
↵Here's an example of what we'd need you to do -- that's our game coverage in advance of this Sunday's Falcons game. That stream will be up to 40+ posts by the day after the game's played. Troy and James do a great job of previewing Falcons games, plus live updates as games are in action and postgame reactions.
↵* We're bringing on a Tech hoops guy soon, but I'm sure he'd appreciate help. So if you're up on all Tech sports, that's a plus.
