Atlanta Hawks Assign Pape Sy to NBDL's Utah Flash

↵

Pape Sy will be exchanging a suit for an NBDL jersey.  The Atlanta Hawks assigned the rookie swingman to the Utah Flash.   He'll finally get a chance to play.

It's been a tough season thus far for Sy, Atlanta's second-round pick (53rd) overall in the 2010 draft.  The 6-foot-6 guard/forward from France missed the Hawks' first 18 games with a lower back injury.  Since then the guard-forward has never cracked the Atlanta roster. He's never made it off of the inactive list.

Sy was last seen in a Hawks jersey in a pair of games for Atlanta's team in the summer league in Las Vegas.  He averaged 4.5 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.0 assists per game.  Sy, whose nickname is Pepsi, played five seasons for STB Le Harve in France, averaging 5.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 30 games last season.

The rest of the Hawks flew from New Orleans to Milwaukee after their loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday night. They will take on the Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center at 8:00 p.m. EST.
