Sacramento Kings Vs. Atlanta Hawks: Hawks Defensive Woes Continue, Trail Kings 62-53 At The Half

The Kings take a 62-53 lead into the half after shooting 50% in the first half and holding a 40-24 advantage in points in the paint during the first half. Atlanta trailed 32-27 after one and then surrendered 30 more points to the Kings in the second period. This game like the Houston game, is threatening to turn into a shootout. If the Hawks are to pull this one out then they are going to have to make a more concerted effort at cutting off penetration and securing rebounds. The Kings out rebounded the Hawks 29-16 in the first half.

Sacramento placed four players in double figures in the first half led by Jason Thompson's 12 points. Joe Johnson scored 18 while Al Horford chipped in 15 for Atlanta. The Hawks shot a respectable 49% from the field in the first half but their defensive lapses have them looking up at the Kings on the scoreboard as the third period begins.
