NBA Standings, Southeast Division: Hawks Still In Third Place, But Are Closing The Gap

New, 1 comment

The Atlanta Hawks are still in third place in the NBA's Southeast Division but have closed the gap significantly going 8-2 over their last ten games. Coming into tonight's games Atlanta trails Orlando by just a half a game and Miami by two full games. The Hawks own a 2-1 head to head advantage over the Magic and have split the season series with the Heat thus far. Despite Atlanta's embarrassing loss to New Orleans, the Hawks have been playing some pretty good basketball over the past month highlighted by wins on the road against Utah and Miami. The Hawks are currently tied with the Heat and the Lakers for most road wins this season with 15.

Atlanta will play two out of next three games on the road starting with Wednesday's trip to Milwaukee. The Hawks will be back home on Friday night to face a suddenly struggling Knicks team that has lost six straight games. Atlanta will close out the month with a road game in Dallas on Saturday.

February begins with Atlanta playing three of its first four games at home before it embarks on a seven game western road trip which is its longest of the season.
