SportSouth announced on Tuesday that the network will televise 65 of the 66 Atlanta Hawks regular season games for the upcoming 2011-2012 season. All of the broadcasts will be available in high definition. Atlanta opens its 2011-2012 season schedule on December 27 in New Jersey against the Nets. Atlanta's first home game of the season will be on December 28 against the Washington Wizards. The only game on the regular season slate that will not be televised by SportSouth will be the January 5 contest against the Miami Heat that will be televised nationally on TNT.
Bob Rathbun is entering his 16th season as the TV voice of the Hawks and will be joined in the booth by Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins who is in his fourth season as Rathbun's partner. Jerome Jurenovich will return this season as sideline reporter.
SportSouth will also televise a 30-minute Hawks Live pregame show along with post-game coverage. Andre Aldridge will make his debut as the host of Hawks Live and will be joined by former Atlanta Hawks guard Mike Glenn.
