According to a report by SI.com NBA writer Sam Amick, free agent guard Jamal Crawford has trimmed his list to three teams after turning down a two-year offer from the Indiana Pacers. Crawford is now thought to be considering offers from the Portland Trailblazers, New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings.
Both Sacramento and Portland have offered two-year deals thought to be worth around $5 million annually. New York can offer only half of that with its "room" exception of $2.5 million.
The Knicks are hoping that the bright lights of New York might be enough to convince Crawford to take less money and return to the club he starred for from 2004-2009. Portland offers Crawford the chance to be close to his Seattle home and the opportunity to fill some of the void left by the medical retirement of Brandon Roy.
Sacramento seems to be an odd fit as the Kings just re-signed Marcus Thornton and already have Tyreke Evans and rookie Jimmer Fredette. Sources told Amick that the Kings could offer Crawford the chance to start alongside Evans which is something Crawford hasn't done in either of his two years with Atlanta.
