NBA Schedule 2011: Atlanta Hawks To Open Season In New Jersey December 27

The Atlanta Hawks will open their 2011-12 regular season schedule on Tuesday, December 27 in New Jersey against the Nets. Atlanta's home opener is set for Wednesday, December 28 against John Wall and the Washington Wizards

Atlanta will play 13 games on national TV with the first being a January 5 contest against the Miami Heat. The Hawks will be featured on ESPN and NBA TV six times each and have one appearance on TNT. Atlanta will play its annual Martin Luther King, Jr holiday game at 4 p.m. against the Toronto Raptors on January 16. 

There are two different back-to-back-to-back sets of games on the Hawks schedule with the first coming on January 5-7. Atlanta will host the Heat on January 5, travel to Charlotte on the 6th and return home for a game against Chicago on the 7th. The next set won't happen until March 23-25 when the Hawks will host New Jersey, travel to Washington and then return home to take on the Jazz

The longest road trip of the season comes in March when the team heads out on a six-game, nine day trip with stops in Indiana, Miami, Detroit, Sacramento, Denver and Los Angeles. The Hawks will close out the regular season playing five straight home games.
