Knicks Vs. Hawks Score: Shots Not Falling For Atlanta, Trail New York 26-19 Through One

The Atlanta Hawks made just one out of every three shots in the first quarter. The New York Knicks are firing at a 58-percent clip. It doesn't come as much of a surprise who is in the lead after the first 12 minutes.

Amare Stoudemire has six points and Raymond Felton posted seven to lead the Knicks to a 26-19 lead through one quarter of play at Madison Square Garden.

Marvin Williams and Maurice Evans have five points each for Atlanta, which connected on 8-of-24 shots from the field.

Atlanta started the game defending well, holding New York to just eight points in the first seven-plus minutes of the basketball game. But then the Knicks scored nine unanswered points to take a 17-11 lead on Danilo Gallinari's dunk -- yes a Gallinari dunk -- with 3:03 remaining.

New York lead by as many as nine before Atlanta pushed back.

Al Horford had two points and Josh Smith was held scoreless in the first frame for the Hawks, who are trying to go into the All-Star Break with a two-game winning streak.
