Deron Williams Traded To Nets, Derrick Favors To Jazz In Deadline Blockbuster

One of the NBA's best young point guards has been traded to the Eastern Conference, with Utah Jazz PG Deron Williams going to the New York Nets in a huge deal just before the NBA trade deadline. Former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets forward Derrick Favors also figures, heading to Utah after spending his first few NBA months in Jersey.

According to the Bergen Record, the trade works like this: Devin Harris, Favors, and two No. 1 picks from New Jersey to Utah for Williams.

The Eastern Conference gained some serious star power this week, with the New York Knicks adding Carmelo Anthony and the Nets picking up Williams. While the jury's still out on Melo, the Nets are getting near-universal acclaim for this one.

This also means the Hawks are less likely to pick up Harris, as had been rumored, cutting their primary point guard trade option to Cleveland Cavaliers PG Ramon Sessions.
