Kirk Hinrich’s debut was the major story going into tonight’s game but the Hawks have received a spark from the other point guard on the roster. Jeff Teague got the start tonight and has done the job defensively in the first half. Teague played 14 minutes in the first half scoring four points while handing out five assists. His presence has been felt the most on the defensive end of the floor.
Josh Smith leads all Hawks scorers with thirteen first half points. Al Horford joins him in double figures with ten points of his own. Atlanta shot 46% from the floor in the first half. After building an early fifteen point lead, Atlanta once again fell in love with the jump shot. After the Warriors had cut the lead back to nine, the Hawks once again took it inside and were able to stretch the lead back out to twenty at the half.
Monta Ellis scored fourteen first-half points for the Warriors while David Lee added ten. The Warriors shot just 33% in the first half and also committed fourteen turnovers.
