Mike Bibby To Sign With Miami Heat After Washington Wizards Buyout, According To Reports

New, 2 comments

Mike Bibby will reach a buyout agreement with the Washington Wizards Monday, according to reports. He could be set to give up his $6.4 million salary in the event of a buyout, and the deadline for making such a move is … well, today.

He may already have a landing spot, though. He reportedly intends to sign with the Miami Heat once the deal goes through, keeping him in the Southeast Division and moving him to a team that will make the NBA playoffs. He’ll also get to square off against his former Atlanta Hawks if all this shakes out as expected, with Miami and Atlanta playing in mid-March.

Bibby was traded by Atlanta to Washington for Kirk Hinrich on Feb. 23. The deal involved several other players, but that was the gist of it. He played all of two games in D.C. before reportedly deciding he’d had enough, scoring two points.
