Nuggets Vs. Hawks: Josh Smith Injures Right Knee After Getting Tangled Up With J.R. Smith

Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith was having one heck of a game against the Denver Nuggets on Monday night, posting eight points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field in the first quarter.

But when inserted back into the lineup because Atlanta's reserves couldn't hold onto a big lead, J-Smoove got a little banged up. He and the Nuggets' J.R. Smith collided in the paint. While J.R. Smith spent some time down on the floor in a bit of pain, Josh Smith headed to Atlanta bench, where he had his knee looked at by trainer Wally Blase.

Josh Smith has stayed put on the bench ever since. He will be evaluated at the break.

Stay tuned folks, the Hawks are playing extremely well right now and have a 41-35 lead with just under five minutes left. But they can ill afford to lose Smoove for any extended period of time as they try to improve their standing in the Eastern Conference.
