The Atlanta Hawks' jump shots started falling. They erased a small Chicago Bulls lead and took a modest one into the break.
Josh Smith has 12 points and Jamal Crawford 11 to lead Atlanta to a 50-48 lead at the break.
The Hawks are making life miserable for Derrick Rose, ramping up the defense and causing him to take tough shots. He has 10 points on 2-for-11 from the field. Unfortunately, I can't go much deeper into the other stats of the game because the NBA's stats are irrevocably broken on the Internet. They have had it at 14-11 for about 40 minutes now.
That makes any recap a little bit difficult to write.
Here's what you need to know though. Atlanta is connecting from the arc and the perimeter. That's what's kept them in the game, even though the Bulls have been attacking the post and controlling the paint. Obviously, we've seen this game from the Hawks before. Once the jumpers stop falling, they're going to have to finish inside. If they don't, they will lose. Plain and simple.
Hopefully, the third quarter update will have some stats attached to it. We will see.
