Things are not looking good for the jump shooting Atlanta Hawks. They are doing a terrible job penetrating the paint and settling for jumpers. I think we all know how this story ultimately ends.
Nene Hilario and Wilson Chandler have 14 points each to lead the Nuggets to a 72-63 lead through three quarters at Philips Arena.
Zaza Pachulia has 11 points and Marvin Williams 10 for Atlanta, which is shooting just 41-percent (25-for-61) through the first 36 minutes.
This one has basically stayed in a 7-11 point range for most of the last six minutes or so of the third period. The Hawks just simply can't successfully penetrate the paint to either draw a foul or go to the hoop. As a result, the Nuggets are coming up with some easy rebounds.
The Nuggets lead the battle of fhe boards 35-24.
Kenyon Martin and Aaron Afflalo have 12 each for Denver, who also have gotten nine points and 10 assists from Ty Lawson.
